WASHINGTON, D.C.– Chris Herrmann sparked the Diamondbacks’ offense with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Tanner Roark made it six innings for the Nationals, allowing four runs, six hits and two walks in his first loss of the year.

BOSTON, MA– Hanley Ramirez hit a pair of home runs in the Red Sox win, which dropped the Orioles into a tie with the Yankees for first place in the AL East. Chris Sale struck out 11 while letting up two runs on three hits and two walks in eight innings. Alec Asher took the mound to start for the Orioles, going six innings with three runs, six hits and one walk allowed.

DETROIT, MI– Miguel Cabrera added a two-run home run as a part of the Tigers’ five runs in the first three innings. Justin Verlander allowed two runs on four hits and four walks over seven innings for the win. Corey Kluber struggled in the start, being knocked out after allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk in three innings. Detroit pulled into a three-way tie for second with Cleveland and Minnesota. The trio of teams trail the Chicago White Sox by a half-game.

CINCINNATI, OH– Tyler Glasnow helped himself out by driving in three runs and throwing six innings of three runs, four hits and four walks as the Pirates pulled to within two games of the NL Central lead. Joey Votto drove in all three of the Reds’ runs with a three-run home run in the first. Scott Feldman threw four innings and gave up seven runs on six hits and two walks.

Matt Harvey surrendered six runs on eight hits and three walks in five-and-one-third innings of work.

Ervin Santana shutout the A’s over six innings, giving up just three hits and three walks. Sonny Gray returned from injury and allowed four runs, five hits and two walks in six innings.

HOUSTON, TX– Marwin Gonzalez‘ two home runs brought home five runs for the Astros, who lead the AL West by four games. The Astros’ Michael Fiers let up five runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out nine over six innings. Jonathan Lucroy went 3-for-4 with two RBI, including one of the Rangers’ five home runs. Alex Claudio started for the Rangers, giving up three runs on four hits in four innings.

Tyler Chatwood left after going five-and-one-third innings and surrendering five runs, four hits and four walks.

LOS ANGELES, CA– Yasiel Puig drove in four runs on his three hits as the Dodgers have now won seven of their last 10 games. Alex Wood won despite allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk in five innings. Brandon Belt had two RBI and two hits for the Giants. Matt Moore was taken out after three-and-one-third innings of work, having let up nine runs on six hits and five walks.

SEATTLE, WA– Albert Pujols and Andrelton Simmons each drove in a run in the top of the seventh to give the Angels the lead for good. James Paxton lasted five-and-one-third innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and five walks.
