ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Malik Colvin-Seldon continued his torrid scoring pace, but it wasn’t enough as the Monroe Community College Tribunes fell to the Genesee Community College Cougars, 95-85 in WNYAC action, Wednesday night on Monagan Court.
Brian Fobbs (Bishop Kearney) led five in double figures as Genesee CC erased a double-digit first-half deficit to win for the seventh straight time. Fobbs netted a game-high 25 on 7-of-14 shooting including three of seven behind the arc.
The freshman guard converted four of five free throws late in the first half as the Cougars trimmed an 11-point MCC lead to two before going into the locker room trailing 42-38.
Fobbs nailed a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer early in the second half to give GCC a 50-47 edge. The Cougars did not trail again.

But Genesee chipped away from there pulling within four at 42-38 at halftime.
It looked like Monroe righted the ship coming out of the locker room when Colvin-Seldon blocked shots on consecutive possessions. Blunt and Kewan Platt scored at the other end for a 45-38 Tribune lead.
Genesee responded.
Rahmel Thompson connected behind the arc and followed with a layup. Brandon Peters converted a three-point play to give GCC a 47-45 edge. It was GCC’s first lead since 9-7.
