NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fordham’s G’Mrice Davis was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week while freshman teammate Kate Kreslina earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards, announced Monday, were for games played Jan. 2-8.
Davis averaged 20.5 points and 13.5 rebounds on 18-of-31 shooting (.581) from the field over two games last week for the Rams. The junior from Philadelphia, recorded double-double performances in both games, including 27 points and 13 rebounds against Davidson and 14 points and 14 rebounds against George Mason.
Kreslina averaged 11.5 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field along with 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a pair of wins for the Rams. The redshirt freshman from Riga, Latvia, had 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting against Davidson with a pair of three-point field goals. She followed with nine points and three rebounds along with several key free throws in the second half in a win over George Mason as the Rams remained unbeaten in conference play.
Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll
Davidson’s Mackenzie Latt averaged 18.5 points and nine rebound last week, while reaching the 1,000-point mark for her career against Duquesne… Kelley Austria led the Flyers to wins over St. Bonaventure and George Washington last week. The redshirt senior guard had a strong pair of games, averaging 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game…Duquesne’s Chassidy Omogrosso recorded a career-high 20 points and nine assists to go with six rebounds in the Dukes’ victory over Davidson…George Mason’s Kara Wright posted her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and a career-high tying 11 rebounds in a 53-49 loss to Fordham. Freshman teammate Alexsis Grate tied a career high with 11 points in a loss to Fordham on Saturday. The guard also matched a career high with four assists in 19 minutes off the bench…George Washington’s Lexi Martins recorded double-doubles in both performances last week, averaging 14.0 points and 11.5 rebounds…Rhode Island’s Charise Wilson posted her third-straight scoring performance of more than 26 points in conference play and is now averaging 31.0 points per game in A-10 play. Making her first career start last week, Rhode Island freshman Nay Lassiter scored a career-high 12 points against UMass…St. Bonaventure’s Mariah Ruff matched a career-high of 25 points, adding four rebounds and three assists on 8-of-17 shooting and 5-of-9 from long range vs. Dayton…Richmond’s Lauren Tolson averaged a double-double for the second straight week after recording 17 points and eight rebounds in a loss to VCU and nine points and a career-high 14 points against Bona. Jaide Hinds-Clarke recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds against VCU…Saint Louis’ Sadie Stipanovich posted consecutive double-doubles in wins over George Mason and VCU. The double-doubles were her fifth and sixth of the season.
