Curtis Cobb averaged 34 points per game including a MAAC single-game tying record 46 points as Fairfield finished the week with a 2-0 record. In the team’s win over Manhattan, Cobb set the school single-game scoring record with his 46 points and tied the Stags’ single-game three-point field goals standard with nine. His 46 points is the second-highest single-game scoring high in Division I to this point this season. He made 16 of 23 field goal attempts and 9 of 12 three point tries versus the Jaspers. Earlier in the week, Cobb netted a team-high 22 points in Fairfield’s 93-87 decision over Iona, making 7 of 11 field goal tries and 4 of 6 three point attempts. For the week, Cobb averaged 34 points, two assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 67 percent from the floor (23 of 34) and 72 percent from three-point range (13 of 18). He netted 9 of 12 free throws as well.

Rookie of the Week
Mikey Dixon, Quinnipiac
Fr., 6-2, G, New Castle, De/Sanford School

Dixon had a huge week to help the Bobcats to a 2-1 record, averaging 20.7 points on 55.3 percent shooting to go along with 5.0 assists. He had 23 points in a road win over Niagara to start the week, which included a go-ahead three-pointer with 55 seconds left to put the Bobcats ahead by one, and the winning basket with 23 seconds left after Niagara took the lead back. After scoring 16 points in a loss at Canisius, he capped off the week with 23 points on 7-11 shooting and seven assists in a win over Manhattan. Dixon was also 16-16 at the foul line this week, extending his streak to 30 made foul shots in a row.
