Richmond freshman Grant Golden was released from the hospital on Monday after he collapsed on the floor without contact during the first half of Saturday’s game against Texas Tech.
Golden will see a cardiologist on Monday evening to determine a further course of action or treatment.
A native of Winchester, Va., Golden returned to campus and attended but did not participate in Monday’s practice.
“It was great to see Grant back in the Robins Center on Monday,” head coach Chris Mooney said. “Obviously, we have been praying and thinking about him over the course of the weekend. I would like to thank all of our medical staff that have cared for Grant and continue to work with him now. We will continue to evaluate him to ensure the best course of action and treatment moving forward.”
Golden will not travel with the Spiders to Harrisonburg for Tuesday’s night game at JMU. There is no current timetable for his return.
