Brown notches double-double; Northstar Christian knocks off defending state champ

Miles Brown netted 25 points and collected 10 steals to lead Northstar Christian past defending Class C NYS champion Middle Early College (VI), 70-62. Tre Roberts added 18 points for Northstar. The Knights improved to 2-0. Aaron Clements scored 15 for MEC.

Bloomfield (2-3) 56
HAC (0-3) 48

Patrick Geitner led Bloomfield with 15 points. Jamarr Paisley scored a game-high 21 for HAC.

Marcus Whitman (2-2) 71
Dundee (3-1) 42

Burlin Allen connected six times from behind the three-point arc and finished with 21 points to lead Marcus Whitman. Riley McLoud added 14, and Nick Young had 15 for the Wildcats.

Red Jacket (3-1) 72
Honeoye (1-3) 56

Red Jacket’s Daniel Brown led all scorers with 21 points. Ah’Kell Whitfield added 12.

South Seneca (0-4) 48
Naples (1-1) 55

Zach Dormer and Nick Green scored 15 points apiece for Naples.

Attica (2-1) 37
Byron-Bergen (2-0) 56

Colin Noeth led four in double figures with 16 points. Brandon Burke had 14, Derek Cooper 11 and Ryan Richardson 10 for Byron-Bergen. Attica’s Owen Thompson scored his 1,000th career point.

Pembroke (2-2) 44
Alexander (1-3) 42

Kyle Ludwig hit a go-ahead three-pointer with nine seconds remaining as Pembroke overcame an 11-0 run by Alexander to start the game. Ryan Cansdale scored 12 and Lucas Kohorst had 10 in the win. Chris McClinic had 12 points and three assists for Alexander.

Wayland-Cohocton (1-2) 55
Dansville (2-1) 48

Jack Gibson scored 23 for Wayland-Cohocton.

Alfred-Almond (0-5) 46
Addison (2-0) 60

Adam Chilson hit four three-pointers and finished with 20 points for Addison.

Hinsdale (0-3) 23
Belfast (1-0) 79

Belfast’s Adam Enders had 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
