Sheldon Adams and Nahziah Carter combined for 19 first quarter points as the Bishop Kearney Kings jumped to a double-digit lead en route to a 79-53 victory over Nottingham (III) in non-league action Tuesday night at Ed Nietopski Gymnasium.
Adams hit three three-pointers and finished with 11 points in the first eight minutes. Carter connected twice from long range in the stanza. The University of Dayton commit added 11 points in the second quarter, and the Kings went into the locker room with a 47-22 advantage.
Adams finished with 16 points. Shykell Brown added 15 for Kearney. Patrick Thomas chipped in with 10. Bishop Kearney improved to 2-0 on the season. The Kings host International Prep (VI) Friday night. A 7:15 pm tip off is scheduled.
