PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s forward James Demery has suffered a stress fracture in the fourth metatarsal of his left foot and will be sidelined for a few weeks, it was announced by head coach Phil Martelli.

The injury occurred in the win over Toledo on November 11 and was confirmed with x-rays earlier today. Demery’s status will be further updated in a few weeks.

A 6-6 junior from Williamston, N.C., Demery had 11 points and tied his career-high with eight rebounds in the Hawks’ 77-76 season opening win over Toledo. He was the team’s leading returning scorer after averaging 8.0 points per game last year.

The Hawks host Columbia this evening and then head to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands for the tournament that runs from Nov. 18-21.
