Counting down to tipoff and previewing the incoming players of the Atlantic 10 with a look at the first-year players of the Davidson Wildcats.
Davidson finished 20-13 (10-8 in A-10 play) last season and fell to Florida State in the first round of the NIT.
Bob McKillop and his staff welcome Jon Axel Gudmundson to campus this fall. In addition, Dusan Kovacevic and Kishawn Pritchett join the lineup after sitting out 2015-16 with injuries, and transfer Will Magarity also takes the court this season.
Jon Axel Gudmundsson – G 6-4, 190 Grindavik, Iceland
Played for the U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-20 Icelandic National Teams • Also a member of the Grindavik Basketball Club in Iceland’s Super League the last two seasons • Averaged 15.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game for Grindavik in 2015-16 • Led his club team to multiple Icelandic and Cup Championships, while earning MVP honors • Named tournament MVP of Sweden’s U-18 Nordic International Tournament • Helped Iceland to a second-place finish at Finland’s U-20 International Tournament, while averaging 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Before Davidson: Three-time letterwinner for head coach Brandon Jolly • 2014 All-State selection and Conference Player of the Year • Twice named all-region, all-conference and all-county • Selected County Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior • Averaged 15.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals for his career.

During our NC Top 80 he showed explosion and in our Phenom AAU events, he showed the ability to dominate a game without scoring a point. Will Magarity – F 6-11, 240 Stockholm, Sweden (Boston College)
2015-16: Sat out season due to NCAA Transfer Rule.
2014-15 (At Boston College): Played in 22 games and made three starts; appeared in 10 ACC contests and all starts came in league play • Averaged 3.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game; averaged 3.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists in ACC action • Missed 10 of the last 12 games of the season due to concussion symptoms • Matched a career high with 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting in his last appearance against Miami (2/16) • Tallied nine points and six rebounds vs. Louisville (1/28) • Had nine points and five boards in the previous game at Georgia Tech (1/25) • Posted eight points and three rebounds in the season opener against New Hampshire (11/14) • Scored seven points against USC (12/21) • Recorded six points, six rebounds and three assists vs. Providence (12/5) • Had five points, three rebounds and three assists against West Virginia (11/21) in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Before Boston College: Played for Sweden’s U-20 National Team • Averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21 minutes per game for club team, Eco Orebro, in 2012-13 • Also hit 32 percent of his 3-pointers … played four games for Italian club Angelico BI in 2012 • Played for Sweden in the U-18 European Championship, averaging 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in nine games • Also represented his country in the U-16 European Championship, averaging 15.6 points and 7.0 rebounds in eight games.
