How they got here: Athena beat No. 7 Irondequoit 2-1 in the quarter-finals while Brockport shut out No. 6 Pittsford Mendon, 3-0.

Athena has won three consecutive and is undefeated in its last four. Brockport closed the regular season with two defeats before its win in the quarter-finals.

No. 4 Greece Arcadia (8-8-1/5-4-1 Monroe County D2) vs. No 8 Brighton (5-10-3/1-7-2 Monroe County D3)
How they got here: Arcadia defeated No. 5 Spencerport, 2-0 in the quarter-finals. Brighton opened the sectionals with a 4-0 win over No. 9 SOTA/NW/NE before upsetting No. 1 Canandaigua on PKs.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Against common opponents, both lost to McQuaid while the two defeated Aquinas. Arcadia split with Webster Schroeder. Brighton dropped its only meeting with the Warriors. It was the same result with Webster Thomas. Brighton tied and lost to Pittsford Sutherland. Arcadia fell in its only meeting with Sutherland.
Arcadia dropped two of three to close the regular season before winning in the quarters. Brighton closed the regular season on two-game winning streak.

History 101: Arcadia lost to cross-town rival and eventual champ, Greece Athena, in last year’s semi-final. Prior to that, the Titans last reached the semis in 2010 when they fell 3-0 to Aquinas. Arcadia won or shared seven titles from 1979-88. The Titans last championship came in 1993 when they claimed the BB crown. Brighton took back-to-back A championships in 2011-12. The Barons also won the 2003 title and the 1994 BB championship.
