ST. LOUIS – The St. Bonaventure University men’s soccer team fell at Saint Louis, 5-0, Saturday night.
The two teams held a scoreless tie through almost the entire first half until the Billikens broke it with just five seconds remaining until the break.
Saint Louis doubled its lead at the 67-minute mark. SLU then scored three quick goals in the span of the 78 through 83-minute marks.
Alex Olday made seven saves in the game, which is a new career high for the first-year keeper.
Paul Afful and Anthony Gaglianese fired shots for the Bonnies.
After tonight’s game, Saint Louis extends its lead atop the Atlantic 10 win 18 points. Duquesne now holds sole possession of second place with 11 points. VCU and St. Bonaventure maintain their tie, now sitting at third place with 10 points apiece.
Up next, the Bonnies will put conference action on hold as they head to NJIT on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2:00 p.m. St. Bonaventure’s final regular season game will be at Fordham on Nov. 5.
