DAVIDSON, N.C. – The St. Bonaventure Bonnies earned their first Atlantic 10 victory Saturday afternoon, defeating the Davidson Wildcats, 3-2.
Kieran Toland scored the first two Bona goals while Isaiah Wilson netted his first career goal to round out the Bonnies’ scoring.
Sophomore keeper Luke Iacobellis earned his first win of the season in net while making four saves.
Davidson got on the board just 12 minutes into the game as Jaylen Thompson beat his defender and crossed it to Christian Fletcher, who finished cleanly. The 1-0 Wildcat lead would stand through halftime.
But, at the 56:06 mark, Kieran Toland deflected the ball into the Davidson net to tie the game at 1-1.
Then just five minutes later, Toland gave the Brown and White the lead as he scored on a penalty kick.
Isaish Wilson handed the Bonnies an insurance goal at the 64:03 mark as he finished from 20 yards out, top shelf. A pass from Jon-Michael Perkins set up the strike.
Davidson would get one back, though, at the 75:09 mark. The Bona defense would hold strong the rest of the way to secure the victory.
The Bonnies earned 11 shots in the contest. For the second consecutive game, Toland recorded five shots. Wilson and Jacob Dyck had two apiece, while Paul Afful and Perkins chipped in one apiece.
Up next, the Bonnies will continue their road trip as they head to UMass on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
