ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men’s soccer team lost to Robert Morris Sunday afternoon, 1-0.
The Colonials came out on top due to an own goal by the Bonnies 53 minutes into the game.
The two teams went into the half scoreless. The Bonnies controlled the tempo early, outshooting the Colonials 10-7 in the first half. SBU ended up outshooting RMU in the game, 16-13.
Robert Morris pressed in the second half. They had five corner kick opportunities in the half to the Bonnies one.
Sophomore goalkeeper Luke Iacobellis made nine saves on the day.
Bona’s 16 total shots were made up by Kyle Kleckner, Noel Orozco, Paul Afful, Kieran Toland, Kosi Nwafornso and Isaiah Wilson. Afful, Toland and Nwafornso had four shots apiece while Orozco fired two and Kleckner and Wilson had one each.
The Bonnies will be in action next at Canisius on Friday night, Sept. 16, and they return to the Marra Athletics Complex Sunday, Sept. 18.
