ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball staff will present its 15th annual prospect event on Sunday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Fred Handler Park.
The event is for high school student-athletes in grades 10-12 and will give participants an opportunity to work closely with the SBU coaching staff in a one day camp. The players will receive instruction from the staff in all aspects of the game and have the opportunity to use that instruction in controlled drills. It is an excellent opportunity for players to get top level instruction, meet the coaching staff, and learn more about the collegiate baseball experience.
Campers will be instructed by St. Bonaventure head coach Larry Sudbrook. Sudbrook led the Bonnies to the Atlantic 10 Championship and the NCAA Tournament in 2004, both program firsts. Coach Sudbrook’s Bonnies have made the Atlantic 10 tournament eight times in his tenure as head coach. A two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, Sudbrook owns over 600 career victories and has led 23 players to the professional level. Assistant coaches B.J. Salerno, Jason Radwan and Joel Rosencrance will also instruct campers.
Cost is $100 per person and space is limited to a first come, first served basis. Campers are asked to bring a glove, bat, baseball pants, cleats and catching gear if needed. For more information, please call 716-375-2641.
