Former Canisius men’s basketball player Kevin Bleeker ’15, MS ’16 has signed to play professionally for H.O. Holargos in the Greek Men’s Basketball B League. Bleeker, a native of Alkmaar, Netherlands, is the first foreign-born player to sign a contract with Holargos.
Bleeker played in and started all 33 games in 2015-16 for Canisius, where he averaged a career best 6.8 points per game to go with 5.0 rebounds per contest. He recorded two double-doubles in his final season as a Golden Griffin, and he scored a career-high 19 points in the team’s loss at Fairfield Jan. 29. During his career in Blue and Gold, Bleeker played in 113 career games, where he made 49 starts.
In the classroom, Bleeker was a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection. He earned his undergraduate degree in communications for the College in 2015, and he left the school after earning his master’s degree in sport administration in May 2016.
Bleeker is the 18th former Griff to sign a professional contract to play overseas since 2006.
