Bronx, N.Y. (April 22, 2016) – Fordham University head men’s basketball coach Jeff Neubauer has agreed to a contract extension Dave Roach, director of athletics, announced today. The extension will run through the end of the 2020-2021 season.
“Jeff Neubauer did a tremendous job in his first year, moving the Fordham men’s basketball program in the right direction,” said Roach. “Since the day he started, Jeff has worked nonstop to elevate our program and the results were displayed in the immediate improvement of the team. We are confident that he is building a program that will bring great pride to our alumni and fan base.”
In his first year at Rose Hill, Neubauer led the Rams to a 17-14 overall record, 8-10 in the Atlantic 10, and they appeared in the 2016 CollegeInsiders.com Tournament (CIT), Fordham’s first postseason appearance since 1992. The 17 wins were the most since 2006-2007 while the eight conference wins were the most since 2006-2007. The Rams went 14-5 in the Rose Hill Gym, the most home wins ever in school history.
In eleven years as a head coach, Neubauer has a 205-148 career record, going 188-134 in ten years at Eastern Kentucky. He has guided six of his eleven teams to postseason play, including in each of the past four years.
