PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Richmond graduating senior Terry Allen has been selected to play in the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational Tournament on April 13-16 in Portsmouth, Va.
The annual tournament puts 64 of the nation’s best college seniors in front of NBA and professional scouts in the only showcase for seniors before the NBA Draft.
On Friday, Allen was also tabbed by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to its All-District Second Team.
Allen finished his career at Richmond ranked 11th all-time in scoring with 1,491 points (11.1 ppg) and 5th all-time in rebounding with 782 boards (5.8 rpg).
This season he was named All-Atlantic 10 Third Team after placing 11th in the conference in scoring (17.3 ppg) and sixth in rebounding (7.7 rpg). He also led the Spiders in steals (1.6 spg) and shot 49.2 percent from the field.
Allen reached double figures in all but three games this season and registered a team-high five double-doubles. His career-high 34 points led UR past No. 14 California in the Las Vegas Invitational in November.
