Saint Joseph’s forwards DeAndre’ Bembry and Isaiah Miles have both been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 4 First Team as voted on by the members of the NABC.

Bembry and Miles led Saint Joseph’s to its second Atlantic 10 Championship in three years and a 28-8 record, for the second most wins in school history. The Hawks earned a #8 seed in the NCAA Tournament and reached the round of 32 for the first time since 2004.

Bembry was named the Player of the Year in both the Atlantic 10 and the Philadelphia Big 5, as he averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and a team-high 4.5 assists per game. He scored double figures in 35 games, with nine double-doubles. He was also chosen to the USBWA All-District 2 Team, as well as being a first-team selection by the Atlantic 10 and Big 5.

Miles was one of the most improved players in the nation, earning that award from both the Atlantic 10 and the Big 5. The senior led the Hawks in scoring with 18.1 points per game and in rebounding with an 8.1 average. Miles, who earned All-Big 5 First Team and All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors, tallied double figures in 35 games and posted 10 double-doubles on the season. He was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the A-10 Championship.

The duo combined to score 1,280 points, which was 46 percent of the Hawks’ total points. Both players recorded their 1,000th career points during the year, with Bembry now totaling 1,590 points to rank 15th on the Hawks’ all-time list, and Miles with 1,097 points to rank 40th among SJU’s scoring leaders.
