ROCHESTER, NY – For the 35th anniversary of the 1980 Miracle on Ice in Lake Placid, NY, the Rochester Red Wings hosted a special Miracle on Ice Night at Frontier Field on August 1, 2015. This season, the Red Wings will host another Miracle on Ice Night on Friday, August 19.
Olympian Mike Eruzione, captain of Team USA in 1980 and the game-winning goal scorer vs. the Soviet Union in the medal round, will be in attendance. He will be joined by teammates Neal Broten, Dave Christian and Mike Ramsey, who also attended last season. Rochester will wear replica white jerseys for the 7:05 p.m. game vs. Buffalo, which will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Red Wings Community Foundation. The Olympians will sign autographs from 6-6:45 p.m. and from 7:15-8 p.m., shooting first pitches between each session.
Olympians John Harrington, Ken Morrow and Ramsey shot first pitches last season.
After the game, the Olympians will do an interview prior to a fireworks show presented by ESL Federal Credit Union.
