NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Duquesne senior Deva’Nyar Workman was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Duquesne freshman Kadri-Ann Lass earned the league’s Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday for games played Feb. 8-14.
Workman recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and five steals in a 61-56 victory over Rhode Island. She was 4-of-7 (.571) from the field and 8-of-9 (.889) from the charity stripe against the Rams. Workman followed with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists in a win over Saint Joseph’s. For the week, the Reading, Pa., native averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting from the field, 2-of-3 (.667) from beyond the arc and 9-of-11 from the free throw line.
Lass averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in a 2-0 week for the Dukes. Against URI, Lass had 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. She followed with 16 points, seven rebounds and four blocks against Saint Joseph’s. This marks the fifth rookie of the week award for Lass this season.
Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll
Davidson’s Mackenzie Latt led the Wildcats to a road win at Richmond in their lone game of the week Wednesday. She registered her fourth 20-point outing of the season with an even 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting and added nine rebounds … Jenna Burdette led Dayton offensively in a 1-1 week for the Flyers, averaging 23 points per game. She scored a career-high 23 points behind the strength of a career-high six made three-point baskets in a win over George Mason on Wednesday … Dayton freshman guard Lauren Cannatelli chipped in 12 points and career-high five assists against George Mason. In Sunday’s loss to George Washington, Cannatelli scored 19 points after going 3-of-6 from long range and 8-for-10 from the line … Fordham’s Samantha Clark averaged 11.5 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while playing all 80 minutes this past week. Clark now has 1,185 career points, which ranks 10th in Fordham history, and 881 rebounds, which ranks third in school history … George Mason redshirt senior Kristi Mokube continued her recent tear with back-to-back games scoring in double figures, averaging 14.5 points and nine rebounds against Dayton and Rhode Island last week … George Mason freshman Chinyere Bell tied a career high with 12 points in a win at Rhode Island, capping off a week in which she averaged nine points and seven points in two games … George Washington’s Kelli Prange led the Colonials to a 72-62 win over Dayton in their only game of the week with a team-high 16 points, and she added six rebounds and two blocked shots … Jasmine Alston tallied her fifth double-double of the year, going for 10 points and 10 rebounds while dishing a game-high six assists in La Salle’s win over UMass. She added six points, 11 rebounds and six assists against Fordham on Saturday …Kymber Hill of Massachusetts averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and two assists per game for the week – entering the week, Hill had been averaging 5.4 points per game. Against La Salle she recorded first double-double of the season with a career-high tying 15 points and 12 rebounds. In the win over St. Bonaventure, she was a key figure with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists … UMass’ Brianna Stallworth, the A-10’s top rookie scorer scored 11 points, while adding six rebounds and three assists in a road loss at La Salle. She followed that performance with 15 points, two rebounds and five assists in the home win over St. Bonaventure … Rhode Island’sCharise Wilson averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals over two games for the week. She set a personal best with six 3-pointers and recorded her second career 30-point game against George Mason … Micaela Parson recorded 14 points, eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists in a near triple-double that lead the Spiders to a 62-50 upset win over the Rams … Jackie Kemph of Saint Louis scored a career-high and game-high 28 points at St. Bonaventure, including a career-high four 3-pointers.
