NEWPORT NEWS, Va. —Duquesne senior April Robinson and Saint Louis sophomore Jackie Kemph were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week while Duquesne freshman Kadri-Ann Lass earned the league’s Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday for games played Jan. 18-24.
Robinson recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Dukes past St. Bonaventure, 74-62, this past weekend. The Springfield, Va., native shot 7-of-14 (.500) from the field and 4-of-7 (.571) from 3-point range. Robinson currently sits in ninth on the all-time scoring list at Duquesne and has surpassed 500 career assists. This is Robinson’s fourth A-10 Player of the Week honor this season.
Kemph was SLU’s leading scorer in wins over Saint Joseph’s and La Salle this past week, including scoring a career-high and game-high 24 points at Saint Joseph’s to go with five rebounds and five assists. The Arlington Heights, Ill., native narrowly missed a double-double vs. La Salle with 17 points and nine assists. For the week, she averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds; shot 15-of-30 (.500) from the field and 4-of-6 (.667) from 3-point range.
Lass scored 16 points on 8-of-19 shooting along with seven rebounds and two steals to lead Duquesne to a win over St. Bonaventure. The freshman from Talinn, Estonia has been named A-10 Rookie of the Week four times this season.
Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll
Mackenzie Latt averaged 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor to lead Davidson to a 1-1 week … Dayton freshman Lauren Cannatelli averaged 15.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Dayton. In Sunday’s 71-61 win at Saint Joseph’s, Cannatelli poured in a career-high 24 points to lead all scorers. She also grabbed five rebounds and tallied three assists while going 5-for-10 from long range and 9-for-12 at the line … Fordham freshman Lauren Holden had 14 points, five rebounds and three assists in the Rams’ only game action of the week against Davidson … George Mason senior Taylor Brown scored a game-high 21 against VCU on Wednesday to lead the Patriots to a 70-54 victory. Her 3-pointer early in the second quarter lifted her past 1,500 points for her career and in to fifth all-time in program history. Against George Washington, she led the team with 16 points and had five assists and three rebounds. It was the 16th time this year she has scored in double figures … Caira Washington led GW to a pair of wins over UMass and George Mason this week, averaging a double-double of 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, along with 2.0 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 57.7 percent (15-26) from the field … Jasmine Alston averaged 13.5 assists, 11.5 rebounds and 7.5 points in two games last week, including La Salle’s first triple-double since the turn of the century against Penn on Monday. She had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists against the Quakers followed by career-high 15 assists against Saint Louis on Saturday … Rhode Island’s Charise Wilson had 25 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds in a 78-62 victory over Davidson. It was her third 20+ point game in the last four outings, and her fourth 20-point game of the season …Katie Healy averaged 21.0 points per game in a pair of conference tests at Dayton and at Duquesne. Against Dayton she tallied 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocks on 8-of-14 shooting to help the Bonnies to a 59-54 win and became the sixth player in SBU history to reach 1,500 career points. She had 20 points, four rebounds, three blocks and three steals at Duquesne … Shooting 62.5 percent from the floor, sophomore Chelsea Woods averaged 20 points to go with 8.0 rebounds per game over two contests for SJU … Saint Louis freshman Jordyn Frantz scored eight points and had a career-high six rebounds in the win over La Salle on Saturday.
