LEWISBURG, Pa. — After helping the Bucknell men’s basketball team to a pair of come-from-behind road wins last week, Bison sophomore point guard Stephen Brown has been named the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Bucknell had not won when trailing at the half this season, but the Bison reversed that trend with two comeback victories at Loyola Maryland and Boston University. Bucknell trailed by as many as 17 in the first half in Boston on Saturday, but paced by a career-high 21 points from Brown, the Bison rallied to win 74-71 and remain in first place in the Patriot League with a 7-1 record.

Brown connected on 8 of 10 shots from the field and 5 of 6 from the foul line, and he also had five rebounds, four assists and three steals against the Terriers. All three steals were clean picks that led to breakaway layups in the second half, when Brown scored 15 of his 21 points.

Earlier in the week, Brown tallied 11 points, four rebounds and four assists as Bucknell defeated Loyola 67-58, depsite trailing by as many as seven points in the second half.

In the two games last week, Brown made 12 of his 16 shots, and he is now shooting a league-best 67.3 percent from the field in Patriot League contests. In league play, Brown is averaging 12.9 points per game (No. 11 in the league), 6.0 assists per game (No. 1 in the league) and 1.8 steals per game (No. 2 in the league).

Now 10-9 overall, the Bison host Lafayette on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
