Saint Joseph’s head basketball coach Phil Martelli announced that junior Brendan Casper has been awarded a scholarship for the upcoming Spring semester.

Casper, from Audubon, Pa. (Methacton H.S.) joined the team as a walk-on his freshman year and has seen action in 36 games.

“We’re very happy to be able to provide a basketball scholarship to Brendan and his family. On a team that works extra hard, no one on a daily basis outworks Brendan,” said Martelli. “He’s a great teammate and a great student and this announcement to the team was met with great joy.”

Casper, a 6-6 forward, played in 23 games last season and had a career-high nine points and nine rebounds at #10 Villanova.

The 13-3 Hawks return to action on Saturday when they host Fordham at 1 p.m.
