Navy’s Anderson named Patriot League Player of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Navy sophomore guard Shawn Anderson has been named this week’s Lids Team Sports Patriot League Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Anderson averaged 18.5 points to lead the Mids to a pair of wins on the road last week to improve to 3-1 in the Patriot League and 12-5 overall.

The Mids have won three consecutive League games for the first time since 2011, and are tied for the Division I lead with seven true road victories.

Anderson shared the team lead with 16 points in an 83-67 win at Boston University on Wednesday, making 6-of-11 shots and adding three assists and two rebounds.

He then scored a team high and matched his season high with 21 points in a 71-68 overtime win at Colgate on Saturday, making 8-of-14 shots from the field and adding four rebounds and three assists.

Anderson ranks fourth in Patriot League contests at 18.0 points per game, and leads Navy for the season with 13.2 points per contest in overall games.

Anderson earns his first Lids Team Sports Patriot League Player of the Week award.
