The Canisius-Niagara men’s basketball game in the Gallagher Center on Friday, Jan. 22, will be broadcast live on ESPNU, as part of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s broadcast package, the league office announced today. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Griffs and the Purple Eagles will be meeting for the 177th time in series history Jan. 22, with Niagara holding a 97-79 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to the 1903-04 season. Canisius has won four of the last five “Battle of the Bridge” contests, dating back to the 2012-13 season.

The Blue and Gold is 7-9 overall and 2-4 in MAAC play after falling to Saint Peter’s 70-53 Jan. 9, at home. Canisius will look to end its current three-game losing streak at Dartmouth Jan. 12, the team’s final non-conference game of the regular season. Game time in Hanover, N.H., is set for 7 p.m., and the game can be heard live on Timeless WECK 1230-AM and 102.9-FM in Buffalo and through GoGriffs.com. An online video broadcast will be available through the Ivy League Digital Network.
