CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell senior guard Chris Hass and Holy Cross freshman forward Karl Charles were named the Lids Team Sports Patriot League men’s basketball weekly award winners for their efforts in the first two contests of League action.
Hass averaged 31.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game to lead Bucknell to a 2-0 start in League play, and on Saturday had the first 40-point game in Patriot League action since the 2009-10 season to lead the Bison to an 84-76 win at Army West Point. He was named Lids Team Sports Patriot League Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.
Charles filled the stat sheet with averages of 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as Holy Cross split its first two League contests. He takes home the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Rookie of the Week award for the second time.
Honorable mention status went to seniors Tanner Plomb (Army West Point) and Austin Tillotson (Colgate), juniors Tim Kempton (Lehigh) and Robert Champion (Holy Cross) and sophomores Andre Walker (Loyola) and Shawn Anderson (Navy).

CHRIS HASS, BUCKNELL Sr., G, 6-5, 190; Pellston, Mich./Pellston
Hass had a monster game with 40 points in an 84-76 win at Army West Point on Saturday and averaged 31.0 points in a pair of wins for the Bison last week. He scored 32 in the first half alone against the Black Knights while making 11-of-11 field goals and all four three-point attempts, and finished with the first 40-point game by a Patriot League player since Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum had 42 against Kent State on Nov. 26, 2010. Hass had the first 40-point effort in a Patriot League game since Navy’s Chris Harris hit the same mark on Feb. 10, 2010 against Lehigh, and became the first Bucknell player to hit the mark since Kevin Bettencourt scored 42 against St. Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 6, 2003. Hass made 13-of-19 shots and 4-of-6 three-pointers in the game and added three rebounds and two assists. He scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc in an 88-58 win over Navy on Wednesday and filled the stat sheet with career highs of five assists and five steals. Hass averaged 31.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game in the two contests while shooting 21-of-31 from the field and 7-of-11 from three-point range as well as 13-of-15 at the foul line despite playing just 57 minutes total. Hass earns the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Player of the Week award for the fourth time in his career after taking it three times last season.

KARL CHARLES, HOLY CROSS Fr., F, 6-6, 200; Piscataway, N.J./Rutgers Prep
Charles averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game to help the Crusaders split a pair of contests last week. He had 15 points, six boards and five assists in an 80-64 win over Boston University on Wednesday, then totaled a career-high 16 points, five rebounds and three steals in a 65-60 loss to Navy on Saturday. Charles made 9-of-16 shots from the field and 11-of-13 from the foul line in the two games. He is named Lids Team Sports Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

TANNER PLOMB, ARMY WEST POINT Sr., F, 6-7, 204; Mukwonago, Wis./East Troy
Plomb averaged 24.4 points in a 2-1 week for the Black Knights, with at least 23 in each contest and a high of 27 in a 91-84 win over Monmouth on Monday.
TIM KEMPTON, LEHIGH Jr., F/C, 6-10, 225; Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep
Kempton averaged 25 points and eight rebounds and shot 61.3% from the field as Lehigh split a pair of games last week.
AUSTIN TILLOTSON, COLGATE Sr., G, 6-0, 175; York, Pa./Eastern York
Tillotson averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 assists as Colgate opened 2-0 in the Patriot League for the second year in a row.
ANDRE WALKER, LOYOLA MARYLAND So., G, 6-0, 170; Westbury, N.Y./Christ the King
Walker averaged 16.0 points and 4.0 assists to help Loyola start 2-0 in the Patriot League, and matched his career-high with 21 points against Lafayette on Saturday.
SHAWN ANDERSON, NAVY So., G, 6-4, 203; New Castle, Pa./New Castle
Anderson averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists last week while making 13-of-21 shots from the field.
ROBERT CHAMPION, HOLY CROSS Jr., G, 6-6, 203; Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian
Champion averaged 15.5 points in two games last week, with 20 in a 65-60 loss to Navy on Saturday
