ONEONTA, N.Y. — David Ehmen (Wofford) improved to 3-0, and Ryan Nelson (Quinnipiac) paced a 12-hit attack as the Oneonta Outlaws defeated the Sherrill Silversmiths 6-3 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Damaschke Field.
Ehmen allowed three runs on four hits and one walk over six full innings. The southpaw struck out eight in his eighth appearance (sixth start) on the mound this season.
Nelson doubled home a run in the second as Oneonta took a lead it never surrendered.
Jordan Bradley (Wofford) led the fifth with a triple as the Outlaws sent eight to the plate and combined for four straight two-out hits to put the game out of reach with three runs.
Trevor Putzig (Tennessee Tech) singled home a run and scored on another Nelson double. CJ Krowiak delivered a base hit, and Oneonta led 6-0.
Ehmen retired 12 of the first 13 he faced and did not allow a runner past second until the sixth inning.

Daniel Lowndes (Siena) finished the night going 4-for-4 including scoring a pair of runs with a two-out double in the sixth.
The rest of the Sherrill lineup accounted for three hits.
Mike Diorio (Rider) hurled a shutout seventh for the hold.
John Cecil (IU-Southeast) allowed a hit and a walk over two scoreless frames for his first save of the season.
Sawyer Haney (SUNY Inst of Tech) took the loss. He is 2-3 on the season.
Nelson collected three hits in four trips to the plate scoring twice and driving in two.
Oneonta is 18-17 and sits a half game out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Division. The post-season begins next Sunday.
The same two teams meet for a doubleheader at Noyes Park in Sherrill on Sunday. A 2 p.m. first pitch is scheduled.
