ONEONTA, N.Y. — Daniel Lowndes (Siena) capped a decisive eighth as the Sherrill Silversmiths came from behind to defeat the Oneonta Outlaws, 6-4 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Damaschke Field, Saturday night.

Lowndes plated two with a two-out single in a four-run in an inning which the Silversmiths gained the benefit of two errors, a walk and a wild pitch.

Trailing 2-1, Lenny Ortiz (SUNY Oneonta) reached on a fielding miscue to start the frame and gave way to pinch runner Mitch Sloan (Fort Scott CC). Zach Taylor (Haverford) walked. After a wild pitch moved the runners, Connor Bowie (Mt. Aloysius) delivered for the second straight night. Friday’s NYCBL Player of the Night singled to score Sloan.

One out later, Anthony Fanelli (Seton Hill) loaded the sacks with a base hit. Luke Johnson (Bucknell) reached on an error and brought home Taylor for a 3-2 Sherrill edge. Lowndes extended the advantage when he connected on a 3-2 pitch.

Dan Shelton (SUNY Oneonta) tossed one inning out of the bullpen for the win.

Luke Brust (Monroe CC) worked the ninth for his second save in as many nights.

Tyler Mitzel (Neosho CC) started and went 6.2 for the Smitties. The right-hander allowed two runs on six hits and two walks. Mitzel set down three on punch outs.
