ONEONTA, N.Y. — Jordan Bradley (Wofford) scampered home with the winning run in the eighth, and the Oneonta Outlaws defeated the Syracuse Salt Cats, 3-2 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Damaschke Field, Saturday night.
Bradley doubled and scored on a Taylor Maxey (Tennessee Tech) RBI base hit as Oneonta rebounded from a loss to Syracuse by the same score Friday night.
Matthew Grier (Santa Ana) retired two of the three batters he faced for the win, and Joey Orlando (Binghamton) retired the side in order in the ninth for his second save of the season.
Greg Saenz (Grand Canyon) paced the Oneonta attack with three in four trips to the plate. The shortstop/third baseman plated a run with a one-out single in the fourth.
Tyler Bruno (Iona) doubled home Oneonta’s second run in the fifth.
Michael Adams (Albany U) started and allowed two runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings for Oneonta.
Anderson Burgess (Coppin St.) allowed two runs on seven hits over seven full for Syracuse.
Lucas Tevlin (Binghamton) singled and scored as Syracuse knotted the game at two in the sixth. Tevlin finished the day with two hits in three trips and a walk.
Griffin Barnes (Grand Canyon) collected two hits for Oneonta.
The Outlaws travel to Sherrill for a doubleheader with the Smitties. A 2 PM first pitch is slated at Noyes Park.
Syracuse travels to Cortland on Tuesday to take on the Crush. A 6 PM start is scheduled.
