Saturday’s Ivy League men’s basketball results.

Compiled by Bryan Cereijo

Yale 80 Brown 62

Yale (12-6, 1-0) wins their 2nd straight, and 1st in Ivy League play behind double-double performances from stars Javier Duren (19 pts, 10 rebs) and Justin Sears (15 pts, 11 rebs).

NJIT 53 Dartmouth 62

Alex Mitola (15 pts, 5 rebs, 3 asts) led his Dartmouth (7-8) squad to a great win over a decent NJIT team. It was a complete effort, however, with 3 of the 5 starters for the Big Green scoring in double digits. Twenty-three NJIT turnovers also helped the cause.

Columbia 48 Cornell 45

Columbia’s (9-6, 1-0) offensive weapon in Maodo Lo was held scoreless, but the Lions still found a way to win behind Kyle Castlin’s 12 points, and 18 points from their bench. In this low scoring game, Cornell’s (8-9, 0-1) Shonn Miller also struggled shooting 23 percent.

No. 5 Villanova 62 Penn 47

A not-so-good Penn team (4-9, 0-1 Ivy) put up a fight against a very good Villanova team (17-1, 4-1 Big East) in a relatively close loss. Daniel Ochefu had a monster game for the Wildcats in which he scored 21 points and obtained 10 rebounds.
