Counting down to tipoff and previewing the incoming freshmen of the MAAC with a look at the first-year players of the Monmouth Hawks. 

The Hawks finished 11-21 (5-15 MAAC) and fell to Rider in the first round of the MAAC tournament. King Rice and his staff welcome two freshmen and one redshirt freshmen: Micah Seaborn, Austin Tilghman and Ba’shawn Mickens. 

Ba’shawn Mickens RFR G 6-0, 190 Summit, N.J./ Summit

All-time leading scorer at Summit High School with 1,227 career points for the Hilltoppers… Named honorable mention All-Union County by MSG Varsity as a senior… Helped lead Summit to 17-5 record and 10-2 league mark as a senior… Averaged over 23.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in 2012-13… Holds school-record with nine made three-pointers in one game… His 468 points during his senior campaign is the school’s third-highest single-season mark.

Micah Seaborn FR G 6-5 195 Arlington, TX/ Prime Prep Academy
