Graduated from Saint James School…Tabbed All-County…Began his prep schooling at Montrose Christian where he averaged 8.9 points his final season…Played AAU ball with Team Takeover…Also played soccer and was named All-County…Honor Roll member.
What they’re saying about Therence Mayimba – Jamie Shaw/ Phenom Hoop Report: “Mayimba is a high level defensive player that you will be able to do a lot of things with on that side. On offense, he is explosive and best going downhill.”
Steve Keller/ National Recruiting Report: “He’s good. He’s a small forward who can play on the wing. He can handle. He can shoot. He’s got plenty of talent to be a star for George Mason. At this level, he’s going to have to realize he has to bring every day.”
Marcus Helton/ DMV Elite: “He’s going to be able to contribute defensively. Offensively, he’s still raw. He’s one of the better athletes in the area. He’ll come off the bench, defend and grab rebounds.”
Trey Porter Fr. F 6-10, 200 Dumfries, VA/Potomac
Graduated from Potomac Senior High School…Twice named First Team All-District (2012-13 and 2013-14)…Tabbed First Team All-Region and First Team All-State as a senior…Capped his season being named Virginia 5A Player of the Year…Averaged 12 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game…Played travel ball with Virginia powerhouse Boo Williams.
What they’re saying about Trey Porter – Jamie Shaw/ Phenom Hoop Report: “Porter is a lengthy rim protector. He provides a confident back wall, enabling an aggressive, attacking style defense. Offensively, he has touch to 18’ and can put it on the floor for a dribble or two.”
Steve Keller/ National Recruiting Report: “He’s tall, long and thin. He will be a good player down the road for them. He will need to fill out, add to his game and figure out what he needs to do to be successful.”
Marcus Helton/ DMV Elite: “He’s a little on the thin side right now. His biggest contributions are going to be on the defensive end. He’s a really good shot blocker. He was able to do that in high school. He might get pushed around and pick up some fouls, but he’s a natural shot blocker. Offensively, he will contribute with putbacks. He’s been working on a jumper; he’s improved it throughout his high school career.”
