CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (Sept. 11, 2014)– The Patriot League announced its CBS Sports Network basketball television schedule for the 2014-15 season on Thursday, with 17 contests to be broadcast including both the Men and Women’s Championship games.
The Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship will be televised on CBS Sports Network for the fourth year in a row on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m., with the Women’s Basketball Championship set to be aired for the sixth straight season on Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m. In addition, CBS Sports Network will air both semifinal games of the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 8 at 2 and 4 p.m.
Twelve Patriot League men’s basketball contests will air on CBS Sports Network during the regular season, with the return of flex scheduling for the games on the final two weekends. The coverage begins with a rivalry matchup as Navy visits Army on Jan. 10 at Noon.
The schedule continues when Army visits defending Patriot League men’s basketball champion American on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. The Eagles are back on a week later when they visit Holy Cross on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m., opening a stretch of five games in eight days for Patriot League men’s basketball teams on CBS Sports Network. The Crusaders host another contest when they welcome Colgate on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m., and games will be shown on three consecutive days with Army at Navy on Feb. 7 at 2 p.m., Holy Cross at Bucknell on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and Boston University at Lafayette on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. The packed stretch of Patriot League men’s basketball on CBS Sports Network continues with American at Lehigh on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. and Bucknell at Army on Feb. 15 at 4 p.m., which follows the Army at Bucknell women’s game which airs on CBS Sports Network at 2 p.m.
The first men’s basketball flex game tips off on Feb. 22 at Noon, with another flex slot for the last day of the regular season on Feb. 28 at Noon. The selection of the flex contests will be made no later than 10 days prior to each of the competition dates. All of the Patriot League games will be eligible for the broadcast windows on Feb. 22 and 28.
Patriot League basketball teams begin non-League action on Nov. 14, and the opening night will feature a marquee men’s matchup on CBS Sports Network as Navy hosts Michigan State at 9 p.m. as part of the inaugural Veterans Classic. The Patriot League schedule tips off on Dec. 31.
The Patriot League and CBS Sports Network are entering the fourth season of a multi-year deal announced in June 2011 in which the Network airs Patriot League men and women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse and football. CBS Sports Network will also provide full coverage of the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Tournament for the seventh consecutive year, with multiple regular-season games also televised. CBS Sports Network is televising four Patriot League football games in 2014, with the Lafayette at Fordham contest on Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m.and Fordham at Bucknell matchup on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the League’s package before a doubleheader to close the regular season on Nov. 22 with Fordham at Army at Noon and Lehigh facing Lafayette at 3:30 p.m. in the 150th meeting of the Most-Played Rivalry in College Football at Yankee Stadium.
The Patriot League enters into its 12th straight year in partnership with CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports.
