ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Patriot League announced its CBS Sports Network basketball television schedule for the 2014-15 season on Thursdayand both Army-Navy men’s basketball games will be televised. Navy will play Army in West Point, N.Y. on January 10 at 12 noon and the annual Army-Navy Star Game will be February 7 when Navy hosts Army in Alumni Hall in Annapolis at 2:00 PM.
Including the Army-Navy men’s basketball games, CBS Sports Network will carry a total of 17 Patriot League men’s and women’s basketball games. The network will have two flex dates on February 22 and February 28, with all league games eligible to be chosen as the TV game. The selection of the flex contests will be made no later than 10 days prior to each of the competition dates. Navy is hosting Holy Cross on February 22 and is playing at Loyola on February 28.
CBS Sports Network will also televise the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 PM. In addition, CBS Sports Network will air both semifinal games of the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
Navy will also play its season opener on CBS Sports Network on November 14 when the Mids host Michigan State in the inaugural Veterans Classic. VCU will play Tennessee at Alumni Hall at 6:30 PM and the Mids will play the Spartans at 9:00 PM. CBS Sports Network will televise both games of the Veterans Classic.
Navy’s 2014-15 men’s basketball schedule currently features a total of five televised games. In addition to three CBS Sports Network games, Navy will play at Notre Dame on ESPN3 on November 16 at 2:00 PM and Navy will play at Providence on Fox Sports 2 on November 20 at 7:00 PM.
Navy head coach Ed DeChellis enters his fourth season at Navy in 2014-15. He has improved Navy’s win total in each of the past two seasons. Navy returns its top seven scorers and all five starters from last season’s squad.
