Virginia is coming off a 30-7 season in which it won the ACC regular season and tournament title. The Cavaliers lost to Michigan State, 61-59, in last year’s Sweet 16. Several preseason polls have UVa ranked in the top 25 nationally.
The Explorers return one of the best frontcourts in the Atlantic 10 in seniors Jerrell Wright and Steve Zack. Wright was an All-Big 5 selection and Zack was the top rebounder in the A-10. They will combine with several new guards that sat out last season to help the Explorers back to the postseason this winter.
