ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Oneonta Outlaws unloaded on the Syracuse Salt Cats en route to a 12-0 victory Saturday night at Damaschke Field in New York College Baseball League action. Every player reached base for Oneonta and four of them recorded at least two hits in the ball game.
J.T Genovese (University of Albany) took the mound for the Outlaws. He allowed three scattered singles and struck out five over seven innings of shutout baseball. Genovese earned his third win of the season (3-1) and lower his ERA to 1.39.
“It’s the only one I haven’t allowed a run in, so it is probably my best one,” the 6’8 sophomore from Katanah, New York said about his performance.
Yaniel Delgado (Benedict College) suffered the loss for the Salt Cats. He allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings and struck out five. Delgado fell to 3-3 and increased his season ERA to 5.33.

Kody Ruedisili (Wofford College) started off the scoring with an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the second inning.
Taylor Jones (University of North Georgia) lobbed a pop fly between the third baseman and leftfielder to extend Oneonta’s lead to 2-0 in the third inning.
Ruedisili earned his second RBI of the night in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Ramon Osuna Sanchez (College of Charleston) gave the Outlaws their fourth run in as many innings lining an RBI single to left to make it 4-0.
Oneonta picked up where they left off in the seventh when Ben Mauseth (Grand Canyon University) tripled into the right center gap before scoring on Osuna Sanchez’s sacrifice fly to make it 6-0.
The Outlaws would score six runs in an inning against Syracuse for the second straight night as they tallied six runs in the bottom of the eighth. Ruedisili hit an RBI single to give him three RBI’s on the night. Matt Bolger (University of South Alabama) drew a bases loaded walk to push the score to 8-0. Mauseth plated another run with an RBI single before Osuna Sanchez reached on an error scoring another run. Jones hit an RBI groundout and a wild pitch added two extra runs for Oneonta.
Mauseth broke out of a slump with a 2-4 performance including a triple, two RBI, and two runs.
“I just kept going at it. The last few days, I have been hitting the ball hard just right at people,” Mauseth said. “I am happy that I came through today and we got the win.”
Bolger, Ruedisili, and Jimmy Hand (Northeastern) all had two hits for the Outlaws. Osuna Sanchez drove in three runs.
“Since the three day break, it’s just kind of been clicking for me,” Ruedisili said. He is batting .462 since returning from the All Star break and has driven in four runs.
Anthony Massicci (Canisius College) and Cody LaBadia (Southern Vermont College) both reached base twice for Syracuse.
“All elements of the game came together. We had good pitching, good defense, and a lot of hitting,” Oneonta coach, Joe Hughes said. “One of the rare occasions where all three parts of the game go in your favor…it was a good night for us.”
The Outlaws improved to 19-14 on the season and will face the Syracuse JR Chiefs (12-23) tomorrow in Syracuse.
The Salt Cats fall to 18-16 and will travel to Cortland (11-23) to play against the Crush tomorrow night.
