ROCHESTER, N.Y. — To the winners go the spoils, and no New York Collegiate Baseball League team knows this better than the Hornell Dodgers. The Blue and White atop the NYCBL’s Western Division went 6-1 last week. Jordan Accetta (Wofford/Pitcher of the Week) and Jimmy Latona (Monroe CC/Hitter of the Week) led the way.
Accetta hurled 13.1 innings going 2-0 on the week. The right-hander struck out 12, walked five and allowed three runs on 10 hits for a WHIP of 1.13. Accetta is now tied for the league lead in wins with three and boasts a solid BABIP (batting average on balls in play) of .259.
Latona produced 13 runs this past week going 9-14 from the plate with eight walks for an On-Base Percentage of .833. The Chili, N.Y. native rapped four doubles, scored 10 runs, drove in three and stole a base.
