BATAVIA, N.Y. — David Clarke (Attica, N.Y./Attica H.S.) hurled the Genesee Community College Cougars (5-15/4-4) to a doubleheader sweep (7-5/6-2) of Monroe Community College’s Tribunes (17-16/2-6) in WNYAC action, Saturday afternoon.
After putting out a late-inning rally in the first game, Clarke relieved an injured Randy Mutt (Gurabo, Puerto Rico/PRBA) and tossed 6.2 innings for the game-two win.
Clarke came on with two on and no out in the seventh inning of the opener and stranded runners on second and third.
The right-hander limited Monroe to four hits in the nightcap.

Rayshelon Carolina (Willemstad, Curacao/St. Jozef Academy) brought home a run with a bases-loaded walk. The Cougars added a run when a Josh Maier (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) sacrifice bunt resulted in an ill-executed rundown allowing Soto to scamper home.
Elicier Carrera (Rochester, N.Y./Global Arts of Franklin) doubled home a run in the fourth, and the Cougars added an unearned run for a 6-1 lead going to the fifth.
Carrera homered and Phillie Guzman (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx School of Law and Finance) doubled home a run in the first inning of the second game, and Genesee was off and running.
Lozada pushed the advantage to four with a two-run home run in the third.
Carolina and Angel Rosario (Bridgeport, CT/Bullard Havens) rapped back-to-back singles to start the sixth for Monroe. Hopkins moved the runners with a ground ball to the right side of the infield. Martis brought home Carolina with a groundout, and Rosario scored an unearned run.
