ROCHESTER, NY – Carlos Guzman (Molloy) and Dalton Scarborough (undecided) grabbed New York Collegiate Baseball League honors for the week of July 1st – 7th.
Guzman romped through pitching staffs to earn the league’s Hitter of the Week. Scarborough hurled a complete game shutout taking Pitcher of the Week.
Guzman climbed to the top of the batting average hitting an eye-popping .520 (13-25) for the week. The outfielder from Bloomingburg, New York collected three extra-base hits scored 11 runs and drove in two. Guzman leads the NYCBL with a .415 average. He has hit safely in 11 straight games.
Scarborough tossed a four-hit shutout as the Olean Oilers tightened their grip on first place. Scarborough struck out six and walked one for his first win of the season.
