NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Butler’s Daress McClung and Fordham’s Samantha Clark were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketabll Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday. The duo was honored for games played during the week of Dec. 10-16.
McClung scored 15 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and registered six assists to lead Butler to a 66-56 victory at Northern Kentucky last Sunday. The local Indianapolis product tied her career-highs in rebounds and blocks (6), while setting a new career-best in assists. McClung’s fifth double-double of the season came on a day when Butler never trailed. The 6-0 junior also added four steals.
