PHILADELPHIA (12/03/11) – Temple University senior guard Khalif Wyatt has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending December 2.  It is the first weekly honor of the year for Wyatt, and his second Big 5 Player of the Week citation of his career.

Wyatt averaged 17.0 points and 3.0 assists while leading Temple to two wins on the week.  The Norristown, Pa. native (Norristown HS) started the week with an eight-point, three-assist effort in a 54-39 win at Buffalo (12/28).  He followed that with a season-best 26-point outburst in a 70-62 win over Wagner (12/1).   He shot 48 percent from the field (12-25) and 50 percent from three-point range (5-10) in helping Temple to its first 5-0 start since the 1987-88 season.

On the season Wyatt is averaging 15.6 points per game, good for second on the team, and 5.0 assists per game, tops on the squad and third in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Temple next plays at Villanova on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN2.  The game will also be broadcast on 1210 AM WPHT.
