Senior swingman Scootie Randall continues to lead the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 21.7 scoring average while his 8.0 rebound average is second on the squad. Senior guard Khalif Wyatt tops the Owls and ranks third in the A10 in assists per game (6.3 apg.) while averaging 14.7 points. Two more Owls, sophomore Anthony Lee (12.7 ppg.) and senior Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (10.3 ppg), score in double figures. Lee, who leads TU in rebounding (9.3 rpg.), also tops the A10 in field goal percentage (.765) with Hollis-Jefferson (.705) ranking second in the conference.
Sophomore Will Cummings (3.7 ppg.) rounds out the starters while graduates T.J. DiLeo (4.7 ppg.), Jake O’Brien (7.3 ppg.) and junior Dalton Pepper (3.3 ppg.) providing depth off the bench.
Buffalo, under the direction of 14th year head coach Reggie Witherspoon, will be looking to extract some revenge on Temple after falling to the Owls 87-85 on a tip-in by Anthony Lee in overtime last season at the Liacouras Center. The Bulls, led by Javon McCrea (17.0 ppg.,6.1 rpg.), are 2-5 on the season, recently snapping a three-game skid with a 76-57 home win over Division II Mansfield. Junior guard Jarod Oldham (9.3 ppg., 6.0 rpg.) and sophomore forward Will Regan (9.1 ppg.) also provide a lift offensively while junior swingman Auraum Nuiriankh (4.6 ppg.) and junior guard Corey Raley-Ross (3.7 ppg.) round out the starting five
Temple leads the series, 4-2, but Buffalo has won two of the three meetings played under TU’s scheduling arrangement with the Mid-American Conference.
