What they’re saying about Derrick Colter – Steve Keller/The National Recruiting Report: “Colter is just a tough kid. He is a big competitor with a big heart. He’s got good speed, and he’s good with the ball. It’s going to just be a question of if he is enough of an offensive threat from the outside to keep the defenses honest. If they let him have open 20 footers, and he knocks them down once in a while, just enough to make them here and there, then they’re going to have to come out and defend him. Then he’s going to have the ability to get around people.”
Edgar Walker/MarylandHoops.net: “He’s a really talented scoring point guard. He has a nice low center of gravity with a big, strong lower body. He was probably one of the best scoring guards in the state (Maryland) last year. He can make plays and really get to the basket in a variety of ways. His main tool right now is his ability to breakdown defenders off the bounce and get to the hole.”
