SHERRILL, N.Y.- Sherrill’s pitchers couldn’t stop the Adirondack Trail Blazers, as the team lost 15-7 Thursday night. The Trail Blazers knocked Sherrill starter Nate Eastman out in the first and then promptly scored in seven of the next eight innings, never relinquishing the lead.
Adirondack starter Charles Parsons went seven innings to pick up the win. James Anderson went 3-5 with a grand slam. Bobby Mclaughlin and Alex Simone also had three hits for the Blazers.
Anthony Ragos and Taylor Hackett each had two hits for Sherrill. Ragos hit a 2-run homerun, his fourth and Mike Weakley added a solo shot, his sixth.
The loss—combined with a Salt Cats loss to the Red Wings—means the Silversmiths are only a game up on the two teams. All three are vying for the last playoff spot in the NYCBL Eastern Division.
Sherrill welcomes the Salt Cats on Saturday in a crucial doubleheader—the biggest day of the season so far.
