GENEVA, N.Y. — Adam Dickinson (Westmont) doubled home Brandon Martinez (Kutztown) with the decisive run as the Geneva Twins took the first of a home-and-home, 4-3 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at McDonough Park.

Dickinson’s pinch-hit, two-out two-bagger proved the difference in a game the Twins never trailed.  Martinez singled with two outs and advanced on an error. Michael Allen (Davenport) walked before Dickinson provided the eventual game-winner.

Jon Menke (Univ. of Rochester) improved to 4-1 with the win. The right-hander struck out five and walked none over six innings.

Stephen Joe (Copiah-Lincoln CC) retired the side in order in the ninth for his third save of the campaign.

Geneva scored single runs in the first, fourth and sixth.

Luke Stewart (Broward) led the first with a walk and eventually scored on a double play.

Allen scored in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Chris Casto (Northwest Mississippi CC).

Nick Kranick (Flagler) scored an unearned run in the sixth.

Lake Ontario pushed single runs across in the sixth through eighth.

Jordan Doherty (Mt. Vernon Nazarene) doubled and came home on a Trevor Keele (Univ. of Dallas) single to make it a 2-1 game in the sixth.

Jonathan Burkhardt (East Texas Baptist) drove home Cayden Cuniff (East Texas Baptist) in the seventh, but the Ridgemen still trailed by one.

Joel Belk (Azusa Pacific) hit a solo shot in the eighth.

Asa Johnson (St. Bonaventure) took the loss. He struck out three and walked three over six and two-thirds.

The same two teams meet Saturday night at Basket Road Field. Nate Harris (Univ.of Dayton) gets the start for Geneva (15-16). Brennan Henry (Northeastern JC) takes the ball for the Ridgemen (9-20).  Henry was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 25th round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

A 7 p.m. first pitch is scheduled.
