GENEVA, N.Y. — Adirondack put runs on the McDonough Park scoreboard in seven of nine innings to defeat the Geneva Red Wings 8-2 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action, Thursday night.
The NYCBL’s leading hitter, Eric Baker (Rogers St.) went three-for-five with three double to pace the Adirondack offense. Baker doubled with two outs in the first inning and scored when Chase Matheson (McHenry County Coll) reached on an error.
One-inning later, Baker’s two-out double plated Kenny May (Lincoln U) and Gooch Greer (Carson-Newman Coll), and teh Trail Blazers had all the runs needed.
Ian Tresser (Fairfield) struck out two, walked one and allowed one run in two and two-thirds for his second win of the season.
Adirondack starter, Sean Larson (SUNY Fredonia), struck out six, walked two and allowed one run in four innings.
Colton Campbell (Rogers St.) added three hits including his third home run of the season, a solo shot in the eighth.
Jeff Croteau (Bentley) suffered his first loss of the season. The Trail Blazers tagged the right-hander for 10 hits and five runs (3 earned).
Luke Stewart (Broward) and Cam Stimpson (Alvernia) led the Wings with two hits apiece.
The teams switch venues Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m. Robert Smith Sports Complex. Aaron Benusis (Alvernia) gets the start for Geneva (5-6). Charles Parsons (Mohawk Valley CC) takes the bump for Adirondack (9-4).
