The Adirondack Trail Blazers have named Ryne Foster head coach and Matt Leahy pitching coach for the summer of 2012 season.
Coach Foster grew up in Danville Indiana. He played his high school baseball at Danville High School for his father Rick Foster. He then went to Anderson University in Anderson ,Indiana and majored in mathematics. He graduated in 2009 and played four years of baseball from 2005-2008 for Hall of Fame coach Don Brandon. He played in two conference tournaments and one conference championship game in 2007. He currently resides in Ann Arbor Michigan where he is an assistant baseball coach for Concordia University in Ann Arbor. He is in charge of defensive calls with catchers as well as all defensive work with catchers, corner infielders and all aspects of the offense.
Coach Foster is very excited about the opportunity to coach the Trail Blazers and is looking forward to the challenge. He’s a hard worker and it should translate to how hard our players will be playing on the field.
Coach Leahy has just recently been hired by Utica College as their new pitching coach. Prior to that he was the pitching coach at Hamilton College for a number of years. He was a coach for two seasons with the Utica Brewers while they were in the Eastern Collegiate Baseball League. Finally he coached in the New York State Professional Baseball League.
