Former Saint Joseph’s standout Pat Carroll will be inducted into the SJU Men’s Basketball Hall of Fame at the school’s 57th Annual Men’s Basketball Awards Banquet on April 13, at Drexelbrook Catering (Drexel Hill, Pa.). The 2011-12 Hawks will also be honored that evening.
Carroll, who starred for the Hawks from 2001-05, will be remembered as one of the finest perimeter shooters in Saint Joseph’s history. He owns the school records for career 3-point field goals (294), 3-point percentage (44.5) and 3-point attempts (661), while setting the single-season marks in 2005 for 3-pointers (135) and attempts (311). The 6-5 forward tallied 1,324 points in his career, ranking him 25th on SJU’s all-time list.
He put together his best season ever in a Hawk uniform in 2004-05 when he averaged 18.3 points per game while leading Saint Joseph’s to a berth in the NIT Championship game. Carroll was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year and an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America that season, while also earning the Most Outstanding Player awards for the Atlantic 10 Championship and the Philadelphia Big 5.
The evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards presentation at 7 p.m.
