Halton Arena — Charlotte 49ers head coach Alan Major announced that junior guard Jamar “Deuce” Briscoe has been given his release to speak with other institutions in order to transfer from the program. Briscoe is considering the options available to him at other institutions.
“We appreciate his contribution to the program,” said 49ers head coach Alan Major. “We wish him the best in the future.”
Briscoe averaged 7.3 points and 2.1 rebounds as a junior, making 11 starts in 30 games played. He averaged 20.5 minutes played and shot .351 from the field and .324 from three-point range.
Briscoe has scored 1116 points in his college career, including 581 in his two-year career with the 49ers. He averaged 9.8 points in his two-year career with the 49ers and shot .377 from the field.
He transferred to the 49ers from North Carolina Central, where he scored 535 points as a freshman.
