PHILADELPHIA – La Salle freshman Jerrell Wright (Philadelphia, Pa. / Dobbins Tech) was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It is the second time that he has received the award this season. He shares the honor with Richmond’s Kendall Anthony.
Wright averaged 12.5 ppg. and 4.5 rpg. in a pair of wins for the Explorers last week. He scored a team-high 15 points in a 60-56 victory at George Washington on Wednesday and grabbed six rebounds.
Against St. Bonaventure, Wright had 10 points and three rebounds. He shot 8-for-13 (61.5%) from the field as well.
Wright was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team on Monday.
